I can remember being a little girl and telling my mother that I wanted to write a book. Her response was: ‘That’s lovely, darling, but for every thousand that try, only one gets published.’ I still can’t decide if she was trying to save me from a lifetime of rejection, or if she just didn’t believe I would ever be able to secure a publishing contract. Who knows?
But the truth is – she was right. Getting a publishing contract has always been tough, and since the advent of the internet – it just got tougher! The upside is that with the invention of smart devices anyone can publish a book now. And so I did – several times. And, thanks to the beauty of modern technology, my team and I then helped more than 350 Australian authors publish their books via IndieMosh.
My current books are available from Amazon and many other online retailers.
Will I write any more in the future? Who knows? But at least I wont have to rely on a publisher saying ‘yay’ or ‘nay’. I can let the public choose whether they want to read my work or not. 😉
