Description
This painting of the cliffs which tower over the Colorado River was created using acrylic paints applied with old credit and sim cards. It was inspired by the brightness of the light on the day we visited – the yellows and oranges which jumped out of the cliffs at us, contrasting with the green of the water, were spectacular!
The trees along the water’s edge were fully grown, yet totally dwarfed by the might of the cliffs above, which contrasted also with the cerulean sky behind.
It was a marvellous way to spend a morning – floating quietly down the river below Glen Canyon Dam.
Like so many of my acrylic paintings, ‘Colorado Cliffs’ was completed using old credit and sim cards to apply the paint – no brushes were harmed in its making.
Acrylic on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
