Bowl 5 – Zen Garden (SOLD)

Description

‘Zen Garden’ was inspired by the most amazing sheets of wrapping paper – they were huge and depicted the bonsai tree along with some Japanese symbols which I didn’t take the time to identify. But I used them to decorate the side outside of the bowl.

It was a real challenge to get the bonsai tree on the base of the bowl. You can’t lay down a piece of paper like that on a curving surface without making allowances for the curves, so I had to tear it in a lot of places and layer it over itself to try to maintain the image as one piece.
