This quick sketch of Sydney’s skyline was created looking west – so I was on the eastern side of the city, most likely at Bondi Junction. The place has changed yet again over the decade since this was drawn.
With the angle I was on when this was created, it appears that Sydney Tower (formerly known as Centrepoint Tower) has been built atop a tall office block. But if you know Sydney, you’ll also know that that’s not the case – it’s on a spindle!
I like this view because you have to know it’s Sydney. There’s no Opera House, no Harbour Bridge, no harbour! It’s only Sydney Tower that clues you in …
There’s a narrow border left and right of the sketch itself and a slightly wider border above and below, so matting is possible with this artwork.
