Description
‘South Coast Fishermen’ was inspired by a scene from the headland at the end of Towns Street, Shellharbour – when you look back to the coast north of the headland, the water, in the right light, is just amazing. The day I was there, I noticed fishermen on the beach. I don’t fish, and it never occurred to me that you could catch fish that close to shore in salt water. Things you learn, huh?
Like so many of my acrylic paintings, this one was completed using old credit and sim cards to apply the paint – no brushes were harmed in its making.
Please note that the final image is a little bluer than the thumbnail shown above – it’s really hard to capture the actual colours of the original. So click through and look at the larger image – that one’s probably a bit bluer than the original, so somewhere between the two you’ll get a feel for the actual colour!
Acrylic on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
