I can’t recall what inspired ‘On the Beach’ – it might be somewhere I’ve visited, could be a photo in one of my albums, a picture in a calendar at some stage in the last 17 years – who knows? But it’s unlike my usual watercolours in that I’ve resisted the urge to fuss with it or to add ink lines afterwards.
‘One the Beach’ was completed in 2005, so it’s one of my very early works. It’s on a piece of A4 watercolour paper (so it measures 29.7 cm wide and 21 cm high) and has a border of 1.5 cm all the way around, so there’s room for matting when framing.
This artwork ships unframed across the world.
Price includes shipping within Australia. If you’re overseas, a $5 surcharge will apply once you enter your shipping address to help cover the additional shipping costs.
And if you’re ever looking for a good post-apocalyptic novel to read, I can highly recommend Nevil Shute’s ‘On the Beach’ – second only to the edited version of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’.
